Are you a fashionista?  do you own  pieces from any green fashion collection? Green high fashion has come to stay. It has been trending  for quite some time now. Fashion designers  from around the world have found innovative ways to transform "waste materials" into stunning creations. By waste materials I mean  toilet paper, plastic bags, cans, textile scraps etc.

African designers like award winning Mia Nisbet   create upcycle fashion. She makes new clothing from Malawian textiles and recycled western clothing. Zam ke  based in ,Togo make accessories from waste small water packet (pure water).   Canadian fashion design company  Matt & Nat make luxury bags and wallets from plastic bottles.  United States based Patagonia do not only make long wearing clothes, but  they will repair and buy back their gently used  clothes.  The list goes on and on. More and more fashion designers are making their collection, sustainable.

Food, sustains. art,  expresses . So, what do you get when you combine them?   Rice , has been described as a staple food, for more than half of the world's population. It is typically grown in flooded fields known as rice paddies. Through the tanbo art process, rice paddies are being transformed into stunning works of art. It began,in  Inakadate , Japan. In 1993, the first rice paddy art was created, using purple and yellow rice plants. It was the picture of Mt. Iwaki along with letters. Here's a picture, beautiful isn't it?  How is it done?  To begin with, it takes about 1200 people  and costs $35,000 to create.
